The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) staff are currently attending Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) certification training

The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) staff are currently attending Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) certification training at Center for Technology and Business Development LBG in Tema, Ghana, which started 11^th May and will end on 25^th May, 2025. This certification training covers Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), and Risk Intelligence (RI).

The French Development Agency (AFD) approved a grant for the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) to support its Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM) initiative. The grant, which is being implemented through a project (DRM Project CGM1019) is assisting GRA in implementing ERM programs as part of its overall Reforms and Modernization initiatives, as encapsulated in the Authority’s Corporate Strategic Plan 2025- 2029.

This certification training is to build capacity that is aimed at strengthening ERM Governance for better risk awareness, informed decision-making, enhanced resilience against adaptabilities and to ensure GRA can continue operating during and after a disruptive event.

Upon successful completion of this certification training, the following are expected:

1. Built competencies in ERM, BCP and RI principles, frameworks and strategies;
2. Prepare for the certification in ISO 31000, COSO and ISO 22301;
3. Participants will become Trainer of Trainers (ToT);
4. ToT to enhance the capability of GRA staff in ERM, BCP and RI;
5. Contributed to the Authority’s resilience, risk management and continuity efforts; and
6. Set GRA risk appetite and tolerance.

AFD timely intervention has therefore further strengthened the Authority’s efforts in streamlining internal processes and structures resulting in reduced costs of collections as well as improve GRA’s revenue performance to enable it support the Government’s development initiatives.
