Customs Seaport Celebrates Three Newly Promoted Officers
Under the leadership of the Seaport Customs Manager, Raphael Elijah Mendy, a brief decoration ceremony was held on Monday, 2 March 2026 at the Seaport Longroom to honour three newly promoted officers.
He began by thanking the GRA Management for creating an enabling environment that supports the growth and promotion of Customs officers.
The most senior rank was awarded to Njunka Njie and was decorated by the Customs Manager, Raphael E. Mendy. This was followed by Aminta Jarjue (Sub-Officer II), who was decorated by Senior Officer Foday Drammeh. Lastly, Roheyatou Minteh (Sub-Officer III) was decorated by Binta Jammeh, reflecting the institution’s commitment to gender balance.
In his closing remarks, the Manager reminded all officers that Management is fully aware of the critical role the Seaport plays in the revenue collection drive and is cognizant of the sacrifices made by officers, who work from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
He concluded by stating, “To whom much is given, much is expected,” and urged all officers to continue doing the right thing, whether supervised or not.
