The Gambia hosted the Society of Women in Taxation West Africa (SWIT-WA) High-Level Stakeholders Dialogue at the Bakadaji Hotel. Held on 22nd and 23rd September 2025, the event brought together regional leaders and stakeholders to deliberate on the theme “Addressing Taxation Challenges for Women Cross-Border Trading: Implications for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).”
A major highlight of the programme was the official inauguration of the SWIT Gambia Chapter, an important step in advancing women’s leadership and participation in taxation matters in the country.

Another notable achievement during the event was the launch of the official SWIT West Africa website www.switwa.org developed by Mr. Ebrima Saidy, a staff member of the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA).
The Gambia Revenue Authority congratulates SWIT-WA and the new SWIT Gambia Chapter on this milestone and pledges its continued support in promoting inclusive tax systems that empower women and strengthen development at both national and regional levels.
