The Director General of Senegalese Customs, DG Mbaye, on 10 April 2026, paid an official visit to the Karang Customs Border Post as part of his ongoing tour of the region. Officers from the Amdalai Customs Post joined their counterparts at Karang in warmly welcoming the visiting Director General and his delegation.
During the visit, DG Mbaye underscored the importance of strong collaboration and sustained cooperation between Senegal and The Gambia, particularly in the area of cross-border customs administration and trade facilitation. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Commissioner General of the Gambia Revenue Authority for his brotherly support and commitment to strengthening relations between the two institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the Gambian delegation, the Customs Manager of Amdalai Border Post, Mr. Ansumana Bojang, conveyed his profound gratitude to DG Mbaye for the visit and the continued spirit of partnership it represents. He further acknowledged and appreciated the invaluable cooperation of the other security agencies operating at the border, noting that their collective efforts remain essential to maintaining order and promoting seamless cross-border operations.
Mr. Bojang emphasized that the shared responsibility of both countries is to facilitate legitimate trade and strengthen economic ties for the mutual benefit of their peoples. He concluded by expressing special appreciation to Customs Manager Marong, Head of Customs Amdalai, for his strong leadership and dedication to advancing trade and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
